As far as I am concerned – comparing this country to Nazi Germany – is hate speech and he should have been sanctioned accordingly.

The person his comments were aimed at specifically is married to a man of Jewish decent who inevitably would have lost members of his family during the holocaust.

Given the anti-semitic nature of the left, I shouldn’t be surprised but I find it sad that the holocaust is trivialised in this way.

Sick and tired of the left resorting to asinine statements that bare no relationship with reality.

I am sure Linaker’s acolytes will be joyous with his re-instatement, but that says more about their bigotry than anything else

Motd was better without pundits and more people watched it. Get rid of Lineker and his cronies and save a lot of money. All hypocrites as they took the corrupt money from Qatar death stadiums and dodgy regime.

What do you expect from the BBC ? They agree with what Lineker said. This so called impartial organisation is staffed with immigrationnists from the top to the bottom.

It's BBC vs British Football and their fans!!!!! Gary Lineker is a legend and football hero and icon so his has the full support and backing of his football alumni which has a larger amount of people than the BBC

Wow, the BBC wants to be like the state TV of states such as ruzzia or NK. The people who remain should be ashamed after this exposure. Btw, I'm not a football, MOTD, fan, but the BBC are now trying to silence the personal views of it's presenters. Don't pay the TV license for that irrelvant "news" company. Sad to say, but the BBC is no longer "impartial", but it's partial to a bit of government côćk in their mouth.
You could've been useful now, and going forward, but no more

BBC has now proven that it's a mouthpiece of the gov and that nastyBraverman. Don't pay the TV license. Legally, it's unenforceable as there's no way they can detect whether you're watching pre-recorded media (like a DVD), or playing a video game (and that's what you say when they knock on your door. BBC is irrelevant in this day and age, and this just proves it.
Those 'TV detector vans' are empty, because it's scientifically impossible for anyone to know if you're receiving TV/radio signals. They just have a list of addresses the haven't paid , and drive around at night to see if there's flickering light, like a TV. And use ALL CAPS in their letters. It's just to scare you into paying.

Those vans cannot detect anything, they're empty, except for the fake aerials on top. A friend of mine worked in one, and he showed me. And explained their process.

Lineker's personal views about politics, especially to call out that nasty Braverman, has f all to do with his job. He was simply criticising the government, quite logically, something which ALL citizens should be able to do.
This is like the government censoring him, I bet they'd LOVE the control that the autocracies have.
Fk the BBC, you have shown your true colors. I've never felt the need to say this, but they should be defunded, stop wasting our money (especially those fake 'TV detector' vans, you knóbhéads, we know it's just that you go to addresses who don't pay, and see if there's a flickering of some kind of device).

What in dafuq does his political tweets have to do with with his MOTD? Fk all. BBC is way too political now. I used to kind of like the BBC, but you're just a mouthpiece of the government. Braverman is an extremely NASTY person, a horrible person, just listen to her speaking

If "revolt" here means the dictionary definition to "take violent action against an established government or ruler; rebel." Then it tells you a lot about our country. I am not so sure a comment made on a platform entirely unconnected to the BBC about the governments policy is a 'violent action'. Secondly if it means a "revolt" against the BBC then being told to step down is not really his doing. Finally, "Gary Lineker revolt affects BBC sport coverage" Because obviously it was Gary Lineker's fault that his words were to be regarded as a 'revolt' against a government which has quite clearly slipped up in revealing their sheer desparation to cling to power. Finally (again) it is upsetting that this policy is not being challenged more by actual investigative journalism instead the very journalists who are supposed to be the pillars of our 'democracy' have turned against the person who actually does criticise a horrible policy.

The BBC used to be value for money, I am glad dome one has taken up the mantle over thier views on what is essentially morally wrong.

The BBC had things like Panorama, The Big Question, Schools and Colleges, Children BBC, BBC History and other intellectual or culturally relvrnt programming. Theyvused to me in when I thought I wouldn't be interested, and they were effective at perking my attention and interest.

If anyone remembers Fred Dibner, then people will know what I am talking about.

No it celebrity presenters and come dancing. I hate these rightwing shopkeeper ms and these midfle aged nepobabies.

At least Gary Lineker earned his right to sit in the sports chair, not like millionaire Conservative who bought thier way into this institution.

Well done Gary for standing up and being counted.

QUESTION FOR GARY LINEKER: If you took your children in a dinghy to illegally land on French shores from the UK, and your two children died in the process, should you be charged with any offences? Like manslaughter even? If not – Why is it any different the other way across? The Uk does not want to reward people who do that kind of thing.
